We didn't do it, part 1 [pictures]

We've shared several posts about how adding one cat to our household increased the drama exponentially (Always something, Always something, part 2, and Always something, part 3). Another difference? Now we have TWO cats who are completely innocent and perfect angels. No kitty does ANYTHING he/she shouldn't do. This post documents the times I walk into a room and see them together and I wonder what they're up to. Today's post is made up of sets of pictures. If you walked in to a room and saw the following scenarios ... what would you suspect is going on? I'll share my interpretation of these events on the blog next week.

Come back next week to read Momma's interpretations of the above scenes. We'd love if you'd share your thoughts on a couple scenes that really catch your eye!

  1. Quite a collection of photos here! Dad says these all make him think about his old pals Orbit and Isaac. Those two spent so much time together like these two, and they looked identical to them as well! Enjoy your weekend.

  2. I like scene 4, where Ellie Mae looks like she's playing with Bear's tail. Looks like Ellie Mae likes you, Bear! :)

  3. It's great that they seem to get along...mostly!

    1. I'm grateful ... but like human siblings, sometimes they just can't leave each other alone and things head south quickly.

  4. That's pretty funny you two, pretty much the same thing doesn't happen here too!

  5. The two leggers are quick to blame us....if they only knew the creatures that come alive at night when they sleep were really the ones to blame.
Thank you for asking I am eating very well....and Mom thinks I have probably put on at least a pounds since last week. Most days I eat one entire can of FF and I have dry food out all day
Hugs Madi ::Blushing:: I have a very lovely tail poise coming up soon. Mom thought of you all when she took the photos

  8. AMARULA: Oh Bear! I never should have doubted you -- at first I thought the photos suggested you might actually be enjoying your time with EM but now I understand you are clearly lulling her into a false sense of security and biding your time until you are ready to pounce!! PS You can rub my belly anytime!

    1. I'm biding my time ... until Momma stops giving me extra treats to make me feel better ... there ARE benefits to siblings. Not many. Not much. But the extra treats are pretty special. I dream of that tortie belly! ~Bear Cat

  9. Goodness, those are such great pictures of you two. Kind of looks like you are beginning to get along all right. Love scene #9 and the look that Ellie is giving Bear. You all have a fantastic day and a good week end.

  10. Dear Bear,
We've been remiss at the Tribe of Five in con-catulating you on our new feline friend. Seems our lackey...errr purrsonal assistant has been too busy to take care of our correspondence. (It's so hard to find good help). We are thrilled to hear about your new furry buddy and as the Alpha of the Tribe of Five, I can tell you more felines in the house are a good thing. For instance, I have Oliver trained to do the happy dance in the morning near the food bowls so I never have to lower myself to ask for food from the humans. Lily has learned how to open the screen door on the upstairs deck and I enjoy strolling out there when the humans are out (and never getting blamed for opening the door)...well, you get my point, the advantages are endless. Just make sure the felines stick together and the humans don't stand a chance.

    1. Sounds like you're a true Tribe ... each feline with his or her own talents. We're still adjusting a bit. Bear would love if Ellie would just leave his tail alone!!

  11. Honestly, they seem thick as thieves judging by these pictures. They are so cute! I love Bear's wide eyes in his pictures. They're adorable lying together under the chairs in scene 10. Bear's loaf in scene 16 is perfect. Miss Ellie is a doll!

  12. I think many of the photos look like they're totally oblivious to each other when you're around, but when your back is turned they're plotting to take over the house :)

    1. The Boy noticed that they're never looking at each other ... one might look at the other, but never both at the same time. A couple of the pictures seem to show otherwise though. They truly DO look like they're ignoring each other though :)

We'd be more successful if she'd LEAVE MY TAIL ALONE!!! ~Bear Cat

  13. I think they put on a good show for their mom. *wink*

  14. I disagree about them being oblivious to each other (I was reading some comments above). I am LOVING what I am seeing. What I am seeing is that they seem to truly enjoy being in proximity of each other....Ellie Mae seems to be smitten with Bear, I think Bear is doing super well in his job of being the "big brother". Yeah, they have a tussle or two, but all siblings do that. To me, they seem to be enjoying each others company (and Ellie Mae sure hasn't been there long so that is truly special) and they seem to be partners in crime!!! So happy to see this! xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody

I think you're right. I think they enjoy playing and each others' company. Bear doesn't understand that when playing, you don't full on bite and attack and I think it scares Ellie sometimes. I don't think he means to hurt her (she'll cry out in pain and he'll back off).

  15. Awww... it's always fun to have a BFF to snuggle with. And plot with.

  16. I do believe you love each other :) How sweet. Now you two can team up against the humans.

  18. It's beyond fascinating when you bust multiple pets interacting together. As soon as they see you they revert back to their "No, I don't play with him/her...ever" faces. Cracks me up when they do that dance.

    1. Sam and Elsa play together?!?! We won't tell anyone, Sam ... we promise!

  19. We love that you two are learning how to get along! Scene 4 reminds us of two human siblings sitting in the back seat of a car, where the older one sets an invisible line of demarcation. Older sibling: "MOM! He's on my side! Don't touch me! Don't touch me!" Younger sibling (placing hand as close to the invisible line as possible): "Nuh uh! No I'm not, Mom!" And yes, this is the conversation that happened a lot when I was a child (I was the younger sibling). MOL!

    1. YES! My brother and I did that ... I was the oldest and we argued about the location of the line too! I thought that since I was bigger, I should get more room ... my brother disagreed. I love your interpretation ... I'm pretty sure they're doing exactly that on a regular basis!

  20. Hahaha little ones. You look like you're having fun together though ;) Don't worry we won't tell anyone the trouble you get into!

  21. Isn't it fun having two cats who can conspire together? Assuming that's what they're doing...Perhaps we'll never know!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Other than the two of them on the table together, we have to say we think Ellie looks like the one that's looking for trouble here, and Bear is looking pretty innocent!

  23. I don't have multiple cats, but my guess is someone is being territorial, not mentioning names (Bear), while someone else is very innocently trying to play, again no names (Ellie). But that's just me guessing...
