Healthier Pets. Happier Lives.™ with Hill’s® Science Diet® #HillsTransformingLives

This post is sponsored by Hill’s® Science Diet® and the BlogPaws® Pet Influencer Network™. We are being compensated for helping spread the word about the Healthier Pets. Happier Lives.™ Campaign, but Momma Kat and Her Bear Cat only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Inc. is not responsible for the content of this article.

MK: Momma Kat
EM: Ellie Mae
BC: Bear Cat

MK: Kittens! We've got new food!!!
EM: YAY!!!!

MK: And it comes from Hill’s® Science Diet®, a veterinarian recommended brand - built on a foundation of the scientific understanding of dogs' and cats' unique needs - and committed to innovating research in nutrition for dogs and cats. I'm really happy that we were chosen to help share Hill's national health initiative, Healthier Pets. Happier Lives.™. The initiative aims to help pet parents understand the importance of preventative care, consistent vet visits, and proper nutrition in the health and wellness of their pets.
BC: HEALTHY. BOOOR-RING. YUK!
MK: BEAR! Healthy cats make happy cats. Like us, Hill's believes daily quality nutrition and regular vet visits helps pets live their lives to the fullest - so our pets are healthier AND happier! We know that proper nutrition and preventative care can transform the lives of pets - and in turn, transform the lives of the people who share their lives with and love them.
BC: Healthy food?!?

MK: Hill’s® Science Diet® line has many different formulas. Since I'm really picky about what I feed you and Ellie ... I feel better knowing I'm feeding you both natural, healthy food formulated by Hill's, a company consistently dedicated to pet nutrition since it was founded more than 75 years ago.
EM: My concern? Does it taste good?
BC: Healthy ... like DIET?! HEALTHY food means DIET.
MK: I had a hard time choosing which formula to try since Hill’s® Science Diet® formulas cover most common feline issues: the effects of aging, plaque and tartar buildup, digestive issues, healthy weight, hairballs, urinary health, and multiple benefits. We're trying Hill’s® Science Diet® Perfect Weight. Within the first 10 weeks, 70% of pets lose weight!

BC: I AM at my perfect weight!
EM: If you're a BUS.
BC: I am getting really tired of you calling me fat! YOU. The cat Momma calls "Ellie Belly!"

EM: The vet said ...
BC: Oh, SHUT UP!
MK: Come on, Bear. Eating food appropriate for your individual needs and regular vet visits are necessary for you to be the healthiest you can be.
BC: Blah blah blah blah blah.

MK: We keep all your vaccinations up to date so you're fully protected. And regular vet checkups are important to catch problems before they are costly or impossible to treat. We caught Kitty's diabetes before irreversible damage occurred. Your dental problems are a good example too. You still lost a couple teeth - but we saved you from losing ALL of your teeth.
BC: More teeth means more biting! I'M THE SHARK!
MK: You're lucky I take you to the vet for yearly checkups - and now yearly blood screens since you're over age seven - consistent vet visits are critical to your health.
BC: Yeah. I'm "lucky!" Lucky me! I get to be poked and prodded ... and they ... they ... TOUCH ME! Only you're allowed to touch me! Well, except for the few hours after we come home from the vet. You aren't allowed to touch me then either.
MK: I follow the recommendations of The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) - yearly vet check ups for all pets - and senior screenings at age 7 and older. Not only do regular visits detect current concerns and potential health risks, but vets can customize plans for nutritional considerations as well.
BC: Blah blah blah blah blah.
MK: I'm glad you don't have to worry about the details of your health - that's for me, Hill's, and our vet to worry about. But back to the food I chose for you and Ellie to try - Hill’s® Science Diet® Perfect Weight.
BC: I'm NOT trying it! HEALTHY food means DIET.
EM: Ummm he might actually be right for once ...

{Momma fills the food bowl and sets it down}
EM: {sniff, sniff ...} YUUUMMM!!! Nomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom. Hey! This is REALLY tasty! And it tastes like chicken!

MK: Chicken is the number one ingredient!

BC: You already ate HALF the bowl! You could leave some for me! Let me try some!
MK: I thought you didn't want to try it!
EM: Nomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom.
BC: MoommmmmmmmmmmMMA! I want some! Move over, Ellie Belly!

EM: {looking up} I thought you refused to eat healthy food.
BC: I mean, we all know YOUR standards are questionable ... you think The Boy is ...
EM: THE BESTEST THING EVER!
{Thinking to herself about Daddy's lap ...}

BC: ... and you'll eat just about anything ... but even you wouldn't eat half a bowl of food in one sitting if it didn't taste good.
MK: I think we'll try another formula too. Maybe Sensitive Stomach & Skin, Rice and Egg Recipe since Ellie still struggles with diarrhea? Hill's is making it really easy to try their Science Diet® line - until October 31, 2017, they're offering a $10 rebate on the purchase of 7 lbs or larger bag of select formulas! Our readers may visit www.ScienceDiet.com/GetHealthyHappy for more details.
EM: I like rice and egg!
BC: You like everything. That's why Momma calls you a garbage disposal.
EM: HEY! This Perfect Weight recipe is tasty!
BC: Yes, as much as I hate to admit it, you are right about that.
MK: To increase awareness of Hill's national health initiative, Healthier Pets. Happier Lives.™, emphasizing the importance of preventative care and proper pet nutrition, in addition to offering a rebate, they're also sponsoring a national sweepstakes. One hundred pet parents will be chosen over 100 days to win $100 toward their next vet checkup.
BC: HEY! I've already been to the vet more than enough times this year.
MK: Bear, you're due in November for your vaccinations, yearly wellness exam, and your yearly senior blood screen.
BC: Oh, yippee. NOT.
MK: I know it's not fun for you, but it's important for me to make sure you're healthy and you live as long as you can. Even when you're the shark.
BC: Speaking of I'm the shark ... I want more of this Chicken Recipe, Hill’s® Science Diet® Perfect Weight formula!

  1. Oooh looks like you are having great fun sampling the new foods. They do seem to have such a tremendous variety, and an all in one biscuit too. Mine works wonders for a ladies urinary issues. In fact I liked the all in one idea so much I have them shipped in for the peep, meals on wheels they call it and best way to get all the right dietary needs for the senior citizen. I have my own recipe, balanced diet 'ready meal' (when I'm not on the special stuff), no microwave needed. MOL

  2. We've been on the Prescription C/D canned for years - Toby has cystitis issues. And it's just easier to feed both cats the same thing.

    1. That is definitely true. When we adopted Ellie, we got a free bag of food and it was a pain in the behind to fill the two bowls - the cats were always in the others' bowls!

    1. We tried a few vet sold foods with Kitty - but that was years ago - before foods like this were easier to come by. On the one hand, I want them to gobble it down ... but then I remind myself Bear needs to lose a bit ... so it's a little confusing.

  19. Great review, guys! We're so glad you liked it. There's a lot of talk about weight in this house, too, and purrsonally we're sick of it. Mommy says Lexy is too fat and I'm to skinny. Some nerve.
