Annoyingness for Dummies and an Announcement

After spending a lot of time considering how best to use this blog and Facebook, I've decided to make a few changes in how we do things. For now, I'm going to post each new conversation in its entirety on Facebook AND on the blog each day. Since most of our conversations don't include pictures, I'll add a "picture of the day" to each blog post that won't be included in the Facebook version unless it directly relates to the conversation. Also, I might feature a past blog post along with the "picture of the day" on our daily blog post to acquaint our newer readers with all of Bear and my past conversations and posts. I plan to continue the collections of conversations every two weeks or so on the blog, for those of you who like to catch up on any of the daily conversations you missed. Occasionally, when I write a special blog post, I'll link to it on Facebook as I've done in the past. This way, our readers should have access to all our content even if you just follow us on Facebook or just on our blog. Also, we'll continue to post periodic hints as to our daily conversations on Twitter that will be exclusive.

After a while of not offering subscriptions to blog posts, I've added the feature back. By adding your e-mail address in the box at right (Momma Kat and Her Bear Cat by email), you'll be notified by e-mail for every daily conversation/blog post. Or, if you prefer, you can subscribe to our feed using feed readers by clicking {HERE}, or scrolling to the bottom of our home page and clicking on Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I'd LOVE feedback with your observations, ideas or anything else you want to share: please comment on this post, use the contact box at the bottom right, or e-mail your thoughts to mommakatandherbearcat@gmail.com. I don't know what's working and what's not working unless you tell me!

Daily conversation - Annoyingness for Dummies:
BC: Don't you have something better to do?
MK: Better than what?
BC: Sitting there and LOOKING at me!
MK: Something better, like what?
BC: HOW SHOULD I KNOW?!?!?! Something out of your book of 'Annoyingness for Dummies!' Surely every human has a copy.
MK: You mean annoyingness like looking at you?
BC: Like ... like ... SHEESH! You humans really DON'T have anything better to do! It's like you were put on the earth just to annoy us!
MK: Says the cat that sleeps sixteen hours a day, gets a kick out of stealing my desk chair as I'm about to sit down, and licks his butt.
BC: What's your obsession with me licking my butt? Are you jealous? Is that what your problem is? Because you're welcome to lick my butt if you want to!
MK: Really?
BC: Of course NOT! My unmentionables are my business! What's wrong with you?!?!
{Pause}
BC: {sigh} Never mind. Don't answer that!
{Pause}
BC: STOP LOOKING AT ME!
MK: I'm just admiring you! You're handsome.
BC: GO! AWAY! Why don't you go look in the mirror and complain about every white hair you find! Or eat some of your beloved Kit Kats. Or walk into something. Hehe. That's always funny! Smack yourself in the face with my cat toys? Nono. Stand on your desk chair again! TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMBBBBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEERR! You know, any of your usual daily activities!
MK: I'm so glad you find me entertaining.
BC: I didn't say that. Or wait ... I guess I did. Because your middle name is NOT 'grace.'
MK: And your middle name is not 'nice.'
BC: What do you mean, my middle name isn't NICE!?!?! YOUR middle name isn't nice!
{Pause}
BC: Hmm. What IS your middle name?
MK: I'm not telling.
BC: Then I'm not telling you MY middle name.
MK: Ummm, Bear?
BC: NOW WHAT?!?!?!
MK: I'm the one that named you.
BC: RATS!
{Pause}
BC: What's my middle name?
MK: 'Pain in my butt.'
BC: And I thought you naming me 'Lily' was bad!
MK: I was kidding.
BC: Oh. Because it did seem kind of appropriate.
MK: 'Lily?'
BC: Why would 'Lily' be appropriate? I'm not a girl! I meant 'Pain' ... err .. never mind.
MK: Uh huh. Seems like all cats have a copy of 'Annoyingness for Dummies' too.
BC: Don't be ridiculous! Our version is "Advanced Annoyingness."

MK: I'm not surprised.
BC: What's THAT supposed to mean?
MK: I don't know many humans who stick their wet noses in their cats' ears to wake them up. Or try to use their cats as balance beams while the cats try to sleep. Not to mention the extra-super dramatic barfing designed to scare the living crap ...
BC: HEY! It works!
MK: I know.
BC: RATS!

Picture of the Day:

You can read about the start of the desk chair wars in Chair + Towel + Cat = Tons of Pictures. The pictures aren't up to current standards, but it gives you an idea of the history. The two most recent updates to the desk chair saga are found in, "Conversations" With Bear Cat: Part 23 ("On sharing selfishness"), and "Conversations" With Bear Cat: Part 24 ("On MOO!").

If you missed Bear's adoption story, which shares how Momma thought Bear was a girl when they met, you can find it in, The good news is your cat is not pregnant . . . the bad news is . . . (or How We Met).

    1. Hahaha. I LOVE that staring thing! You'd think they wouldn't wake up, but if you stare hard enough for long enough (AND close enough - say an inch away from their face), it totally works. I also love to walk up and down my Momma's side while she sleeps. It's like a balance beam - well, until I slip and land on my butt on her face. You'd think she'd appreciate the view! ~Bear Cat

  2. Bear, we'll never understand the humans and their constant need to stare.

    1. We never signed up for this pawparazzi thing - handsome or no. You'd think since they see us everyday the novelty would wear off. Then again, it probably works to our advantage at times ... like when we abscond with their dinner. ~Bear Cat

  3. Advanced Annoyingness, I better make sure my cats don't get their hands on a copy of this. Love the pic. Bear's expression says it all.

  4. That is a very cute photo of you Bear. It looks as though you are resigned (like all of us!) to putting up with all your Mama's staring though :p

    We don't have any other social media thingies (our Mama is a techno dumbie) connecting our blog to anything. We do have the, Follow Me by email, that our friend placed on our sidebar. Did you see that?

    1. My Momma's techno-challenged too. She totally messed up the blog hop thing for our first couple weeks. And it takes her an unbelievable amount of time to figure stuff out ... she didn't know what a feed was until a few weeks ago. We joined Feedly yesterday and added you to our list of feeds to follow, but we'll added our e-mail to your subscribe thing just in case. ~Bear Cat

  6. Our Mama doesn't even know how to make the blog hop part of her post...she just adds a link! So your Mama is ahead of ours there ;p
    We will look forward to you dropping by and we will in turn visit you. We are capable of figuring that much out (most days!) :)
